Why do we need to charge Subscriptions?

The subscriptions that we collect go towards the running of our HQ. These cover the utilities, insurance, leader training, activity badges and training aids. The subscription does not include the cost of special activities i.e. camps or visits away, nor the provision of joining handbooks or the group necker (this is part of the investiture cost)

How much will I pay?

This will depend on which section your child is joining
Beavers £10 per calendar month
Cubs £12 per calendar month
Scouts £12 per calendar month

How are Subscriptions Collected?
The first three weeks are free of charge this is the visiting period after that if your child wishes to join subscriptions are paid by standing order on joining the group. This method makes the complex financial administration much easier. Alternatives, e.g. cash payments in advance, must be agreed with the Group Scout Leader. An investiture fee to cover neckers, books, badges and woggle will need to be paid to the section leader at time of investiture.

Payment by Standing Order
On joining, complete the Standing Order form and return to the Section Leader. You childs subscriptions will then be collected on a monthly basis. If applicable, please complete a separate Standing Order for each member.

Gift Aid
If at least one parent pays as much or more tax as the subscription, the Group can reclaim the tax paid without any further involvement on your part thus creating an additional income each year to the Group and at no additional cost to you !. Please complete and return the Gift Aid declaration on the Membership Form. The Gift Aid declaration itself involves no commitment to make any specific payments.
