St Georges Day

Next Friday will be St Georges Day, the day celebrating the patron saint of England, whom legend tells us slayed the dragon.

Scouts up and down the country will take part in local activities celebrating this day. Our District will be meeting at Bethany Christian Centre, for a short service on Thursday 22nd at 7.00pm finishing at 8.00pm.

Parents are invited to come along and stay for the duration of the service, which is always very well supported by members and their families.

Members are asked to attend in full uniform, and are asked to make an extra effort to ensure that they are smartly turned out.

This year to help with parking, Fatfield will be providing a coach for it's members, leaving from Harraton Community Centre at 6.30pm and then returning as soon as possible after the end of the service at 8.00pm.

We have booked a 53 seater coach to help with the parking situation at Bethany. As our group now has over 120 members, it's really important to book your seat. This way we can always order a second coach if we need one. Parents are welcome to join us on the coach as well.

Please e-mail Kevin Wilson - 1stfatfield@durhamscouts.org.uk to reserve your seat.

There will be an offering taken - so bring some loose change.

And we remind you that attending this service does count towards badge requirements - so you may even find that you get a badge by attending.
