This week Scouts launched their plans for Summer Camp 2011.
Imagine a place where you could live outdoors with a group of friends for a week. Make choices, cook for yourselves, learn things. Imagine a place which was perfect as a base for outdoor activities, for swimming, for rafting, for shelter building and for mountain biking.
Imagine a place where you had responsibility and freedom...
Imagine a place where you’re part of a big team, a team that says ‘well done’ when you get there but helps you along when you don’t.
Imagine a place where you get closer to nature and where the sun sets deep in Tweed Valley, the river flows and the air is clear. That place is The Yair, near Galashiels in the Scottish Borders.
At summer camp we take up residence in a ‘green field’ building our own campsite, toilet, cooking areas. We make use of the fantastic river, woodland and fields.
