1st Fatfield Scout Group suffered a setback today when a serious structural problem emerged with the HQ roof. Following a risk assessment by the Group Scout Leader and Group Chair, the building is currently closed awaiting assessments by structural engineers and an insurance assessor.

The Group's leadership team have been working all evening sourcing alternative accommodation to ensure that the 120 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in the group can continue to meet and will publish information to parents very shortly.

Group Scout Leader Kevin Wilson said, "After the initial shock of seeing the building damage, our immediate thoughts have turned to keeping things going for young people...we're quite a robust bunch of volunteers in Scouts, though sometimes the challenges just keep coming thick and fast!"

Families are asked to check the Group's website regularly for updates in the coming days.
