Group Minibus

1st Fatfield Scout Group own a 17 seat minibus. The vehicle is a 2007 Transit 430 EL (2.4 115PS) which equipped to carry a wheelchair and has a towbar fitted for towing.

Other community organisations, charities and Scout Groups can use our vehicle. We operate on a not-for-profit basis and the costs are shared among the users.

Running Costs

75p per KM (from collection to return) including fuel. The minimum charge is £20 for each booking.
£75 per day (with unlimited mileage) excluding fuel. The minimum charge is £75.

Driver Eligibility

Be aged 25-70
Have Category D1 on their licence
Have at least 2 years' driving experience
Hold a current MIDAS minibus certificate (or similar passenger carrying safety certificate).

Newcastle Upon Tyne - Clean Air Zone

From 30th January 2023, a Clean Air Zone has been introduced in Newcastle city centre.

This means if you enter while driving the minibus you there will be a charge of £12.50 per vehicle per day which you will be liable to pay if you have hired the minibus.

If you do need to travelling in a Clean Air Zone charge you will need to do this within seven days of your journey.

For example, if your journey is on Monday, you must pay your CAZ charge by the end of the following Sunday.

Payments should be made using the national payment system - failure to do so within 7 days of your travel will result in a £50 charge.
